Pigg Island is a game within Ameba Pigg where users obtain their own island and through exploration of the jungle and caves, by obtaining and collecting various materials, are able to create various items, such as furniture* to decorate their island. Also, players are able to enjoy Pigg Island by communicating with other users.
Through exploration and gathering of materials, players are able to create over 170 different items such as parasols, hammocks and totem poles for their islands. By creating these items, players are able to level up, while also having the ability to help out on their Pigg tomo's Islands and enjoy the social aspect of Pigg Island.
Furniture will not be the only things available to put on the islands, there are plans to incorporate features such as wild animals that will be able to inhabit the islands as well. There are arrangements to continue to expand functionality and add features to Pigg Island in order for users to enjoy and create their ideal Island.
Since its launch in February of 2009, Ameba Pigg has seen tremendous growth in terms of expanding features and functionality. This has resulted in Ameba Pigg servicing, as of March 2012, 11.9 million users, making it the largest virtual space service in the nation.
With the focus being on communication between users (social networking), and with Pigg Island being a continuation of Pigg Life, there are plans for further development, and users should anticipate even more revitalization in Pigg Island.
