[Pigg Cafe] How to deal with special customers!

Hello Everyone! Are you enjoying the newly released Pigg Cafe? I know I enthusiastically said that I would translate quests, but now that I've been playing the game, I realize that it would be impossible for me to do it by myself. Fortunately, the game's quests are fairly redundant, but I've noticed, due to the questions I've been receiving, there is a part of the game that is fairly complex. Even though it is covered in the tutorial, it is still a little bit confusing!

I'd like to take the time today to explain how to easily pass this certain quest.

Step 0: Receive the quest.
All the quest say the same thing but different food! -so far-

Step 1: Make sure you have the dish that is needed to clear the quest.

Step 2: Click the dish and press the green button.

  • This will ensure that you call that specific special guest
  • This will also ensure that you serve that dish to the special guest instead of another.
  • Every dish will call a different special guest. Having the pink words above the coffee will make Master come. Having the pink words above the donuts will make Tommy come. If you want Master to come, don't put the pink words above the hamburger; he will not come. Special guests will only come according to their favorite dishes. Except for the regular customers (Nozomi, Hikari, and Hayate). Sometimes when you put the pink words above a certain dish, these other three regular customers will pop-in instead of the special guest. They will have the words 全部 above their head. They will eat any dish, it doesn't matter.
Step 3: Once you have the pink words above the specific dish, obtain 5 golden bells. When you have five golden bells, by answering requests from customers, then the special guest will automatically come.

Step 4: Usually, they will eat and you will pass the quest. However, sometimes they leave and you do not pass both of the requirements.

Step 5: If that happens, make sure you have enough hospitality points (This includes decor, chairs, flooring, ovens.). The more expensive the product, the more hospitality points you will have. (You will know how many hospitality points they require if you look at the bar that comes up when they eat.)

(She requires 70, and I have 115...but she still didn't give me the gift)

Step 6: If you have enough hospitality points but they still leave without giving you anything, it is time to put in some extra work. Each special guest has a color they like, and if you have that special color in your cafe, then they will take that into consideration as a color bonus! (Even better if they sit in that color chair or at that color table!) This should please them enough to give you the gift and let you pass the quest.

I know this special guest likes red, so I bought some red furniture and made her sit in it! Now, with the color bonus, I was able to pass the quest!

How do we know which customer likes what color? Well, please look at this website here! It has a profile of every special guest, what their favorite dish is, and what color they like.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions, I recommend you visit/join the ameba pigg community on livejournal!

[Review] ピグライフ生活 (Pigg Life Life)

Hello Everyone! Today I am going to introduce (give a walk-through) and review a very helpful and nice Pigg Life extension available for the Google Chrome Browser. This Pigg Life extension claims to help you enhance and manage your pigg life Garden activities better! Let's see!

The title of this extension is ピグライフ生活 which means PiggLife Life and was created in October of 2011 and is currently being used by almost 4,000 users! This extension does a variety of things such as notify you when your crops are done, when your stamina bar is full, and lets you keep tabs on random things to keep your Pigg Life activities under control!

I found out about this app a long time ago but never tried it out. I recently re-discovered it and decided to give it a try. I am impressed to say the least. It does notify you when things are ready to harvest and does make keeping tabs on your garden much easier. I've made a walk through below but I'll have to do some translating to make it useful. Overall, I'm glad that I installed this extension! I am a control freak when it comes to my garden and this extension lets me relax a little bit. xD

However, I do wish this extension was a bit more personal and automatic. I wish it could automatically put in what plants I've planted, how many and how much harvest time is left. But, I guess that would be infringing on the game and some hacking would need to be done for that to work. :(

Other than that, it's a big old fancy timer. xD However, my favorite aspect is the memo tab/section. I have so many Pigg Life gardens bookmarked for when I want to do Outrageous Gardens and so it would be nice to just input their ID into the extension with a memo stating what I like about their garden. Usually, they get lost in the hundreds of bookmarks I have. Often times they get forgotten, and when I get to them, the garden is completely different. I also have tons of documents on my computer with Pigg Life materials I need and Pigg Life blog Ideas. It'd be nice to have it all in one place.

One more thing, It might just be my browser, but when I click on the extension, it takes a while to pop-up. Don't worry, it's coming.

Of course, the app is only in Japanese but don't worry, I'm going to try and make a translation soon for all the crops etc!

I give ピグライフ生活  a 5/5  because it's one of the only free Pigg Life software/extensions out there and there are limitations that they must abide by without infringing on the actual game! :D

[Review] Meet-Me 「ミートミー」

I was really surprised to get a message on my Facebook from none other than the wonderful Hieroglyph. Hieroglyph is one my favorite Pico players and definitely my favorite Pico Blogger. You should check out the two blogs she runs, if you haven't already! [R080: Type MAG; PicoStyle].

She included a link to a game in the message that leads to a Japanese simulation game because she thought I might like it. She's right, I can't resist a simulation game. I mean, SIMS is my all time favorite game. I've been playing SIMS since the first game and haven't grown tired of it yet.

If you can't tell, this blog grew from my love of Pico and Pigg. However, you might have noticed that 95% of all entries are Pigg Life related. I used to have so much fun with Pico but recently, I can't seem to get back into the game. It's a combination of things but one thing's for sure, I haven't lost my love for simulation games, I just have to find the right one!

Therefore, I jumped at the chance to play this Japanese simulation game and I want to thank Hieroglyph for introducing it to me!

Without further ado, If you want to read more about this game, please click the [read more...] link below.

Pigg Life Mobile Help!

What is [どこでもピグライフ]?

どこでもピグライフ  is a handy tool that allows users to enjoy their Pigg Life garden on their smartphone. Functions include harvesting, watering, and cooking.

Regarding its connection to Pigg Life PC version

You can use your existing ID to enjoy the smartphone version of Pigg Life. All items possessed, levels etc. are linked to both Pigg Life smartphone and Pigg Life PC. It is not recommended to use the mobile version of Pigg Life alone, but to use it in conjunction with the PC version. You cannot access Pigg Life from your smartphone and PC at the same time. You will be disconnected if you try.

Recommended Environment

Iphone 4S, Iphone4 (iOS5)/Safari
Ipad2 (iOS5)/Safari
Android Device (2.3+)/Standard Browser

Caution

You cannot access Pigg Life mobile from the Ameba App. You must enter the URL manually into the browser.

Instructions for Ipad/Iphone Safari users:
An error will occur if you try to access Pigg Life mobile using private browsing. Please disable private browsing by going to setting-->safari-->private browsing OFF

Q&A

Q. Browser keeps hanging/drops
A. This happens when your browser accumulates memory but is unable to release it. (Memory Leak) Please try these methods on a regular basis to improve your performance.

Iphone/Ipad users:
1. Close all pages that are opened in Safari
2. From the home screen: Settings-->Safari-->Erase Data and Cookies
3. Double click the home button and display currently running applications.-->Press down on any application until the icons begin to tremble.-->If you tap the red dot in the corner,  the application will be exited out of completely.
4. Press down on the lock button and turn off the device
5. Press down on the lock button and turn on the device
6. Access Pigg Life mobile again
7. Everything should be refreshed and cookies/data should be erased including passwords.

To prevent these memory leaks and to improve the operability of PL Mobile, we have implemented countermeasures such as gradual display of the garden and invisible Pigg Life character!

Q. Nothing is displayed near the entrance of my garden.
A. Your garden is divided into 8x8 plots and will only show the entrance plot at start up. Nevertheless, you can gradually reveal the rest of your garden by tapping on the other 8x8 plots. Depending on how big your garden is, the number of crops, and the amount of furniture/garden decorations in your garden, you can display between 1 and 16 plots at a time.

Q. Things placed high up do not appear
A. Things will be displayed only up to 50 high. Depending on the number of crops and furniture, things will be displayed between 1 and 50 high. *sorry, I don't know what means of measure they are using. We are planning in the future to add special shortcuts for the table and kitchen features.

Q. I can't see my Pigg avatar
A. Pigg Life Mobile does not display your or other's Pigg avatars. Because of this, there is also no chat or dress up feature. From the point of view of the PC, your avatar will stand at the garden entrance with a mobile icon over its head.

Q. I can't travel
A. There is no market place or small garden area. You can however access Emily's garden using the ピグとも feature. We are planning in the future to add special features that allow you to directly exchange with Nora.

Q. What can I do on the PC version, but can't on the mobile version?
A. These are the features  that are not available on the mobile version of Pigg Life: Avatar display, dress up, chat, travel, exchange for items, access Pigg Life settings, add/request Pigg Life Friends, camera, extend garden, move/place furniture, construction, there is also no sound.

*Development of features such as exchange, construction and quests are underway.

Q. How can I log out?
A. The second page of the menu 「メニュー」go to 「設定」 and select「 ログアウト」.

[Review] あそんで♪HuggPet

CyberAgent wasn't joking when they meant they were pushing for rapid expansion. CyberAgent will be releasing 33 new applications between now and October. One of those releases is titled [あそんで♪HuggPet], which I will review today!

あそんで♪HuggPet or HuggPet is a pet raising app that was released in beta on June 6 and has since then been released publicly for the Android market on June 12. Growing up during the virtual pet "era",  I had gigapets, tamagotchis, pet rocks, you name it and I had it! The first Nintendo DS game I had was Nintendogs. Needless to say, I have a soft spot for virtual pets. Therefore, when CyberAgent made the announcement for HuggPets, I was doubly excited. Not only am I fan of CyberAgent and their products but the advertisement made the game look adorable, and I soon realized that what my smartphone was missing was a virtual pet.

June came around and unfortunately, CyberAgent pushed the release back. However, June 6th came and I found out that they released the game in beta. I searched Android Market for the App but it was nowhere to be found. Then it hit me that HuggPets is a browser game. I don't play browser games, aside from Mogg, but I figured I'd do it for HuggPets!

So, here I am a few weeks later ready to tell you my thoughts and opinions on the game.

Traditional to all CyberAgent games, we are first greeted by the game's character, in this case [ハグミ] ,and she lets us browse through the various breeds of dogs and cats that we can choose to raise as our pet. I chose a male chihuahua that I named [ミソ].We are then led to our new home and ハグミ shows us the ropes as much as she can and then we are left on our own.

This game is really confusing at first but even when I think I understand, something else throws me for a loop. The game is really adorable but it is not what I expect when I think of virtual pet game. The game does include features such as  feeding, playing, and dressing your pet. But the biggest incentive to continue playing-I mean, how are you going to get the money for food, toys, and items?-,  is to work towards learning new tricks, entering contests and engaging with other HuggPet players.

I'll start with what I didn't like about HuggPets. They are mainly technical issues that I am sure will be remedied in time.

Number one is the fact that HuggPets is a browser game. I just feel like my phone is working really hard to keep refreshing and going to another page every time I need to do something. I guess it doesnt help that I sometimes get half loaded screens. I've tried different browsers and the game lagged considerably in some of them.

I'm also baffled as to why I'm getting symbols instead of the Japanese font which makes it hard for me to understand at times what is going on because all I see is symbols. :( I have no clue if it's just my phone but I tried different browsers and there were still symbols.

I'm also a little annoyed about the random error pages I run into. I mostly get them when receiving a letter/comment or going too fast for the browser/game. Last but not least, I'm not happy about gacha making an appearance. Almost all items (clothing, furniture etc.) are randomly given out through gacha (free and premium) and that just makes my little heart hurt a little. Please give us a shop!

Now, for the awesome aspects of HuggPets.  First, I love how adorable it is! All the pets are adorable and the tricks they learn are too! I'm also impressed with how complex the game is. If you are looking for more than just raising a pet, then this game might be for you. There is a bit of competitiveness that makes you want to keep playing and level up higher and higher.

I also enjoy the ability to interact with other HuggPet player's pets. You can feed them and play with them, all while getting money, and leveling up your tricks; making everything you do in HuggPet's beneficial.

Sadly, I couldn't imagine myself playing this game if I didn't understand Japanese. Of course, overtime, I'm sure someone who can't read or understand Japanese could get the hang of it, but there is a lot of reading involved and directions that need to be followed that are crucial to advancing in the game.

Why don't they hire someone to do an English translation of their games? I'd know lots of people who would probably enjoy the game if they could understand it!

Anyway, I'd give HuggPets a 3 out of 5 stars. It's new but I'm betting it will get better and better as more people play and time goes on.

I tried to access the game from an Iphone and got this screen telling me it is not out yet but if you are on Android, check it out! See ya there!

Ten.Ten. in Pigg Life!

Hello! How is the Olive Quest coming along? I've been really busy hosting and entertaining a guest and so I am not able to complete the limited quest this time. I'm not too upset because it's just an interior wallpaper that no one really sees anyway. Although, I initially thought the quest was pretty difficult to achieve in the first place and so that's another reason not to be bummed out. :D
Today, Pigg life introduced a new thread on their group page. They want members to submit and show off their Pigg Life Art! There are so many beautifully drawn Pigg Life fan arts and I'm entirely jealous.

How to Join Pigg Life Group
